Edmund Optics BV has been established in Best for just over a year, serving as the local warehouse for EU customers. We are now expanding the scope of operations and transforming the site into the European regional hub for our global supply chain.

As a result of this growth, our small but dedicated team is expanding, with quality, packing, and exporting becoming critical functions at this location. We are seeking a

Distribution Manager (f/m/d)

to lead and support this next phase of development.

Excellence in Customer Service and Operations has been a cornerstone of Edmund Optics’ leadership for nearly 80 years. In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop your supply chain expertise while directly contributing to this mission.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations
• Ensure peak operational efficiency with customer satisfaction as the primary objective
• Supervise, organize, train, and motivate warehouse employees while setting and managing operational goals
• Develop and optimize warehouse systems, including product handling and storage, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping methods
• Resolve day-to-day operational issues and drive both short- and long-term performance improvements
• Review and improve workflows, staffing levels, space utilization, equipment layouts, and action plans to meet productivity, quality, and customer service standards
• Manage, mentor, recruit, and train the local warehouse team
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing procedures and ensuring compliance with all legal and safety regulations
• Work alongside the Managing Director to oversee day-to-day management of the entire site, including building security

Your profile:

• Degree in Warehouse Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a comparable level of expertise gained through relevant work experience
• Senior-level experience leading warehouse operations, preferably within the Netherlands
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with import and export operations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred
• Customer-focused, solution-oriented, and hands-on mindset
• Willingness to travel as required
